Job Description

Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our Procurement team at our Ladson, South Carolina facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and results-oriented leader to support our Aviation product lines while driving operational excellence across the procurement function.

In this role, you will lead a team of procurement professionals responsible for sourcing materials and services that support manufacturing, engineering, production, and aftermarket service operations. You will foster supplier partnerships, develop talent, ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver materials that meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

This is an onsite position based in Ladson, SC. Remote work is not available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering employee growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage sourcing, supplier selection, and procurement activities supporting manufacturing and engineering requirements for Aviation products.
  • Oversee procurement execution for MRP-generated and direct contract requirements, ensuring timely and accurate purchase order placement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers while driving supplier performance, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, commercial terms, and contractual agreements to achieve favorable business outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable contract flow-down provisions.
  • Review and approve supplier quotations, purchase orders, and procurement documentation to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program teams to align procurement activities with production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Support new product introduction and product development initiatives through early supplier engagement and procurement planning.
  • Evaluate supplier performance through cost analysis, competitive sourcing, and risk assessments to improve supply chain resilience.
  • Review technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and models, to support procurement decisions for build-to-print components.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and overall business operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Typically requires 8+ years of relevant procurement, supply chain, or sourcing experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing procurement or supply chain professionals.
  • Experience working within an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Strong supplier negotiation, sourcing, and contract management experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Costpoint, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience leading procurement teams within aerospace, aviation, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of government contracting requirements and procurement compliance.
  • Experience negotiating commercial terms and conditions and reviewing supplier contracts.
  • Experience using Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and product documentation.
  • Familiarity with strategic sourcing, supplier development, and Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
