Job Description

Acadian Asset Management is a global, systematic investment manager at the forefront of data-driven investing since 1986. Headquartered in Boston, with locations in Singapore, London, and Sydney, we manage over $170 billion on behalf of leading institutions worldwide—including pension funds, endowments, foundations, and sovereign wealth funds. We harness advanced technology, rich datasets, and multidisciplinary expertise to help clients navigate complex markets and uncover insights that may be overlooked by traditional approaches.

What sets Acadian apart is our people. We foster a collaborative, intellectually curious environment where ideas are tested, diverse perspectives are welcomed, and innovation thrives. We’re united by a shared purpose: delivering effective client outcomes and supporting one another in work that’s both challenging and rewarding. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, strong benefits, and a casual but focused office culture—all designed to support the meaningful, collaborative work that defines Acadian.

The Procurement Manager is a strategic people leader and category/program owner responsible for advancing Acadian's procurement strategy and execution across key spend categories, specifically investment data, and technology. This role reports to the Director of Procurement and manages one direct report.

This role manages the sourcing pipeline for business spend and team execution, leads complex sourcing and negotiation efforts, and drives consistent procurement standards, process governance, and stakeholder engagement. Partnering closely with business stakeholders, the Procurement Manager delivers measurable cost, risk, and service outcomes while advancing procurement capabilities through data, technology, and best-in-class strategic sourcing practices.

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute category strategies across investment data, technology, global client and corporate teams in support of business objectives.
  • Lead procurement intake, prioritization, and sourcing execution across assigned categories, including pipeline management, timelines, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives end-to-end, including requirements development, RFx execution, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and supplier selection, while driving savings and commercial value through market analysis and total cost of ownership.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service levels to achieve strong commercial outcomes, appropriate risk mitigation, and clear business value.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and partner with Finance, Legal/Compliance and Technology to structure effective agreements and support efficient, compliant source-to-pay processes.
  • Lead and develop procurement team members through prioritization, coaching, feedback, and clear execution standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, controls, and systems by leveraging procurement technology, reporting, and automation to improve compliance, cycle time, spend visibility, and PO adoption.

We're Looking for Teammates With:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive procurement and/or strategic sourcing experience, including investment data and technology services categories; experience in financial services, investment management, or technology-driven environments preferred.
  • Experience managing procurement professionals and/or leading complex sourcing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract structures, pricing models, and third-party risk considerations.
  • Experience using procurement technology (e.g., P2P, CLM, e-sourcing, ERP platforms), reporting/analytics tools and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
  • Ability to diplomatically influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions thoughtfully, and drive decisions with strong commercial judgment.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and includes participation in Acadian's comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
