Your role:

· Organizing, controlling and measurement of strategic pooling and procurement activities, with the objective of establishing optimum conditions on an excellent supplier base contributing to the operational result for the Company.

  • Manage the procurement team by leading and coaching the employees to maximize their personal growth and career opportunities.
  • Responsible for the Purchase-to-Pay activities of all suppliers and ensuring that standard processes and procedures are being expedited.
  • Coordinates and manages a team to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities and to increase profit from global and cross-business or sourcing for one business.
  • Negotiates frame contracts; defines core assortment; documents frame contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems.
  • Forwards systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g., updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date.
  • Identifies particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through risk and change management.
  • Performs Supplier Management, in particular Supplier Development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.
  • Issue RFQ’s, evaluate and adjudicate tenders in accordance with best purchasing practice within the Healthineers procurement policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
  • Monitor Supplier performance and address areas of concern in professional manner.
  • Negotiate and report on cost savings achieved in terms of departmental target.
  • Produce reports: Purchase volume analysis, open orders, etc.
  • Effective and responsible relationship control with suppliers, management, internal departments, and customers.
  • Develop commodity strategies.
  • Implement and update supplier management tools in line with the global footprint.
  • Close collaboration with the Quality department (Supplier audits, required agreements in line with the scope of supply, CAPA management and documentation as and when needed.
  • Pivotal role in the Supplier and Enterprise development as well as preferential procurement in line with the transformation act of South Africa.
  • Integrating “Varian” into the procurement team and aligning the P2P rules and regulations.
  • Engage with the cross functional partners within Varian to maximize synergies.
  • Deploys Procurement strategy according to superior strategies.
  • Heads organization assigned, and leads all related management and staff.
  • Acts as a role model and proactively leads transformation of organization and workforce, especially with regards to digitalization, value chain orchestration, diversity, required skill set of staff etc.
  • Ensures implementation of Procurement standards, regulations and guidelines on Business Unit level.
  • Contributes to overarching SCM/ Procurement programs and initiatives on country level.
  • Responsible for PVO, CoO/ FTE and related other KPIs; delivers targeted results.
  • Acts as personal advisor to country Executives and Senior Management in all Procurement related issues.

Your expertise:

  • BCom Supply Management or equivalent
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience in procurement / healthcare or relevant field
  • University degree in either business administration or engineering as typical qualification
  • Other qualifications (e.g. Stammhauslehre, degrees in economics, physics etc. ) to be discussed on case-by-case basis
  • Has experience in at least 2-3 of the following SCM areas/roles: Buying professional, commodity manager, procurement
  • engineer/project procurement manager, regional procurement manager, CVE, supplier management or supplier quality management,
  • methods/processes/controlling
  • Has made at least one cross-functional or one cross-business move
  • Has had leadership responsibility for at least one team
