Job Title: Procurement Group Leader - Training & Manpower

Location: Warton, Hybrid, 3 days per week on site

Salary: £59,491+ (DOE)

As a Procurement Group Leader, you'll lead strategic procurement and supplier management activities across the Training & Manpower category, supporting current and future capability programmes across Air.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business and an international supplier base, you'll help shape category strategy, deliver value-for-money sourcing solutions and ensure suppliers continue to meet business and customer requirements. You'll also play a key role in supporting future training technologies, including simulation, virtual training environments and content development solutions.

Core duties:

  • Act as the Procurement Business Partner for the Training & Manpower category, supporting category strategy and future capability development
  • Lead strategic procurement and supplier management activities across a UK and international supply base
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, contracts and sourcing solutions that support programme and business requirements
  • Drive supplier performance, risk mitigation and supply chain resilience activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, legal, finance and programme teams to deliver procurement objectives
  • Support customer-facing activities and governance forums across UK and international programmes

Essential Skills:

  • Experience developing procurement, category or supplier management strategies
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships
  • Experience leading procurement activities within a complex organisation
  • Experience managing supplier performance, risk and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing challenging stakeholder environments, balancing competing priorities and resolving conflict to achieve business outcomes

The Training & Manpower team:

The Training & Manpower Procurement team supports a diverse portfolio of programmes across Air, helping to deliver innovative training capabilities for current and future platforms. Working with suppliers across the UK and internationally, the team plays an important role in supporting simulation technologies, virtual training environments and future capability development while ensuring value, performance and resilience across the supply chain.
