Role Purpose

The Procurement Demand Planning and Contract Management Lead is the strategic interface between Procurement and the Technology organizations, responsible for orchestrating Enterprise Technology demand planning and leading complex commercial and contractual negotiations with technology suppliers.

This role ensures that Technology investments are commercially optimized, contractually robust, and aligned with business and technology strategy. Acting as a senior advisor to Technology business teams in Enterprise IT (EITS) and Product (PTO), the role drives early procurement involvement in Technology initiatives, consolidates demand across the organization, and secures optimal sourcing and contractual outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership with Technology Business Teams across Enterprise IT and Product.

• Act as the primary procurement partner to Technology leadership, product owners, and technology domain leads.

• Embed procurement into Technology planning cycles, roadmaps, and investment decisions.

• Advise Technology stakeholders on commercial models, sourcing strategies, and supplier options.

• Challenge and refine requirements to optimize cost, risk, and scalability.

• Facilitate alignment across Technology domains to leverage enterprise scale.

Enterprise Technology Demand Planning

• Lead consolidation of Technology demand across projects, products, and business units.

• Translate technology roadmaps into a structured procurement pipeline.

• Develop multi-year visibility of Technology spend and sourcing waves.

• Identify aggregation, standardization, and reuse opportunities.

• Coordinate closely with Technology Finance and portfolio governance processes.

Complex Technology Sourcing & Negotiation

• Lead high-value and strategically critical Technology sourcing initiatives.

• Design negotiation strategies for software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, and Technology services.

• Negotiate complex licensing, subscription, consumption, and service models.

• Drive competitive tension and supplier positioning in strategic deals.

• Secure optimal commercial structures (pricing, scalability, flexibility).

Contract Strategy & Risk Structuring

• Shape contract architecture for major Technology agreements and frameworks.

• Negotiate key contractual terms (SLAs, liability, data protection, exit, benchmarking, audit).

• Anticipate lifecycle risks (renewals, lock-in, usage growth, true-ups).

• Coordinate with Legal, Security, Cloud, Architecture, and Technology stakeholders in approvals.

• Establish negotiation positions for renewals and vendor strategies.

Value Optimization Across Technology Spend

• Drive cost transparency and benchmark Technology commercial models.

• Prevent suboptimal renewals and fragmented purchasing.

• Influence vendor selection toward strategic platforms and standards.

• Enable enterprise agreements and volume leverage.

• Identify structural savings and demand optimization levers.

Governance & Visibility

• Provide senior visibility of Technology demand pipeline and major deals.

• Support Technology investment governance with commercial insight.

• Maintain oversight of strategic Technology contracts and commitments.

• Report on savings, value delivery, and sourcing roadmap progress.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Technology, Engineering, or related field

• Advanced degree or procurement certification preferred

Experience

• 8–12+ years in Technology Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Technology Vendor Management

• Proven leadership of complex Technology negotiations and enterprise agreements

• Experience partnering with senior Technology stakeholders on technology investments

• Strong understanding of software, SaaS, cloud, and Technology services commercial models

• Experience in demand planning, budgeting, or portfolio planning environments

Skills
