What’s the role?

The purpose of your role will be to provide end to end best procurement advice and expertise to our business partners and stakeholders across the Group, with the objective to optimise value from our supplier relationships and to deliver ‘fit for purpose’ solutions to support a simpler, stronger bank.

Working within Group Procurement & Customer and Corporate Services, the Procurement Commercial Manager is responsible for managing suppliers to ensure the successful commercial and contractual delivery of products and services to the business and internal stakeholders. In your role, you will support the Head of Procurement and the Professional Services & Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team to deliver on Group Procurement objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Negotiate and manage contracts in accordance with Westpac’s principles and processes.
  • Execute a sourcing strategy, standards, methods, and processes to ensure compliance with legislation and regulation.
  • Actively support and engage with internal stakeholders and external experts to ensure continuous improvements of commercial outcomes identified through review and benchmarking processes.
  • Central point of contact for stakeholders in relation to commercial activity within assigned category.

What do I need?

  • A background in professional services and BPO procurement including negotiating and managing contracts, with strong exposure across senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing sourcing strategy and building strong supplier relationships
  • Experience in running RFx’s and negotiations with suppliers
  • A high level of stakeholder engagement skills
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to further develop your procurement skills
  • A tertiary qualification in IT, business management, finance or legal studies is desired but not essential
