Procurement Clerk

Location: Blackheath, Cape Town

Salary: R12 500 per month

Employment Type: Fixed-term Contract (project-based)

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate civil engineering materials for quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review and verify requisitions to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Conduct market research to source competitively priced materials and equipment.
• Obtain managerial approvals for purchases and issue accurate purchase orders.
• Coordinate with suppliers, project managers, and internal teams to manage delivery timelines and resolve issues.
• Work closely with the storeman to monitor stock levels and maintain optimal inventory.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in procurement or buying within the civil engineering or construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials and procurement procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement software (BuildSmart experience is a plus).
• A diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
