Silgan Containers is hiring a Procurement Category Manager tomanagestrategic sourcing initiativesforover $50 million in spend.In this highimpact role,you’lldevelop sourcing strategies that enhance efficiency, drive cost savings, and improve supplier performance across multiplesites

WhatYou’llDo:

• Build andimplementsourcing strategies acrossassignedto drive measurable valueand operational improvements

• Managethe strategic sourcing process by gathering data, preparingRFPs, RFQs,andRFIs,andevaluating suppliers, and conductingsupplier assessmentstoguideselection

• Develop andmaintainsupplier relationships, outliningexpectationsand driving continuous improvement.

• Negotiate, draft, andfinalizesupplycontractswithlegalteam.

• Monitor industry trends,supply chainrisks, and supplier performance toidentifysourcing opportunities

• Define and execute annual savings plans, working capital improvements, andspecificcategory initiatives.

• Managesupplier qualification, training, and complianceefforts

• Research and recommend sourcing models including contracts, openmarket purchases, and outsourcing options.

• Deliver continuous cost reduction and value improvement through quoting, cost modeling, and strategic negotiation.

• Establish sourcing metrics and dashboards to measure supplier performance, savings, and operationaloutcomes

• Work closelywith internal stakeholders to align category strategies with businessgoals

• Advance ESG initiatives by partnering with suppliers to implement sustainable practices and drive innovation.

What You Need to Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, ora relatedfield.

• At least 4 years of experience in procurement, category management,supply chain,orstrategicsourcing, preferably in manufacturing

• Background in the manufacturing sectorwithmultiplesitesor global operations preferred.

• Proven success negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier performance.

• Skilledin total cost of ownership modeling andusingdatato guide outcomes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and PowerPoint.

• CPM or CPSM certification preferred.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally,as needed.
