The individual in this position reports to the Senior Manufacturing Buyer and the VP of Operations and is responsible for implementing optimal logistics processes and material management systems within the department, as well as overseeing the logistic performance of suppliers. This position also provides support services to procurement analysts.

Communicate daily with suppliers regarding schedule releases.
Schedule requirements for purchased materials, including economic order quantities, optimal inventory levels, delivery schedules, and material replenishment.
Implement and maintain optimal logistics processes and material management systems within the unit to ensure supplier performance.
Provide support services to procurement analysts.
Schedule and expedite the delivery of purchased materials to support production plans, including recommending premium logistics alternatives when appropriate.
Process supplier non-conformance issues and expedite corrective actions.
Work with procurement analysts to maintain ongoing relationships with assigned suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance.
Measure supplier performance and define corrective actions as needed.
Negotiate with suppliers to resolve short-term performance issues.
Execute inventory plans using system parameters and material replenishment strategies to achieve inventory, asset management, and material flow goals.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance using the Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
Execute logistics requirements for suppliers concerning container packaging methods and parameters.
Establish agreements with suppliers on appropriate logistics processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience in supply chain management, purchasing, or production planning in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in imported goods.
Excellent math skills.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage time constraints and shifting priorities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Working knowledge of ERP inventory systems (Epicor experience is a plus).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Associate degree required or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and policy and procedures manuals/ instructions.
Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and be proficient in the ERP inventory software.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Work environment is typically quiet as most of the time will be spent in the office environment. May need to perform job responsibilities in the warehouse or production areas as needed.
