Job Description

Procurement & Asset Project Lead

Full-time | 12-month fixed term | Can be based in Hobart, Franklin, Dover or Nubeena

About Us

Huon Regional Care has been supporting Tasmanians since 1963, delivering quality
aged care and community services across Franklin, Dover and Nubeena.

We’re a values-led organisation, committed to respect, belonging, accountability,
compassion and innovation, and we’re entering an exciting phase of growth,
particularly in our Support at Home services.

About the Role

We’re looking for a practical, commercially minded Project Lead to drive a 12-month
organisational improvement program across procurement, fleet and asset
management.

This is not a BAU role, it’s a hands on, build something better role where you’ll
review what we have, design smarter approaches, and implement systems and
processes that will set us up for the future.

You’ll report to the Executive Manager Finance and work closely with leaders across
the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Procurement

  • Review current supplier arrangements and contracts
  • Design and implement a fit for purpose procurement framework
  • Lead contract reviews, negotiations and supplier consolidation
  • Build tools and guidance for managers to support consistent procurement practices

Fleet

  • Review fleet usage, cost, safety and suitability
  • Develop a future focused fleet strategy (including sustainability considerations)
  • Recommend vehicle mix, replacement cycles and operating model
  • Implement practical controls for fleet management and oversight

Asset Management

  • Establish a centralised asset register
  • Develop an asset lifecycle and replacement approach
  • Improve visibility and governance of organisational assets

Project Delivery

  • Lead a structured 12 month project with clear deliverables
  • Prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achievable
  • Engage stakeholders to embed practical, usable solutions
  • Deliver tools, documentation and systems that will last beyond the project

About You

You’re someone who enjoys getting in, making sense of complexity, and delivering
practical outcomes.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Experience in procurement, contract management, asset management or project delivery
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Ability to design and implement frameworks (not just write them)
  • A pragmatic, solutions focused mindset
  • Confidence working across different teams and influencing outcomes
  • Solid organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Experience in aged care, community services, or a multi site environment is highly
regarded but not essential.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to lead a high impact organisational project
  • A collaborative, down to earth Executive and leadership team
  • The ability to shape systems and practices from the ground up
  • Salary packaging benefits
  • A values driven organisation making a real difference in the
    community

How to Apply

If you’re ready to take on a role where you can deliver tangible, lasting improvements,
we’d love to hear from you.

Apply via SEEK or Employment Hero with your resume and a short cover letter outlining
your experience.

For a confidential discussion or to request the Position Description, contact the
People & Culture team at hr@huonregionalcare.org.au.

Applications will be reviewed as received, and we may close the advert early if a suitable
candidate is identified.
