In order to hold all development teams to the highest development standards, product validation has resembled a dedicated team that plans, builds, and operates this new highly integrated vehicle platform.

We are looking for a procurement, materials, and supply chain/logistics expert. With your help, the team and the department will receive correct parts at the right place and time. With your ability to coordinate with our expanding supply-base, the team and management will be well-informed to the status surrounding orders and deliveries. The right person will understand and manage suppliers and the demanding project expectations while informing and appropriately escalating challenges in a timely and pro-active manner. With your positive and can-do attitude, you will bring our team and our projects together making our processes state of the art for other departments to follow.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop relationships with engineering and program management within various departments of DTNA, Detroit Diesel, and development partners to understand technology developments, design changes and future business decisions within the global supply chain

  • Interface with suppliers, PVE Build Shops, DTNA Engineering, Launch & Change Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, International Trade Compliance (ITC) and Production and Aftermarket Purchasing teams to ensure timely and accurate communications of specifications

  • Ensure suppliers have complete plans and strategies in place to achieve delivery targets and fulfill all order requirements

  • Facilitate Supplier Performance Management, relationship building, and build an increased Prototype Supplier network via new supplier trials and portfolio diversification efforts.

  • Procure relevant vehicle components and special orders, including support of Plant-Built Test Trucks, ad-hoc requests, and expedites where required

  • Manage quality and delivery activities with suppliers including target controlling and escalation steps

  • Pro-actively report out “at risk” parts during truck build status meetings

  • Apply critical thinking and innovative solutions to logistics issues

  • Work on cross-functional teams to deliver results, including Summer Test/Winter Test, internal logistics teams, or other larger test events

  • Initiate and support continuous process improvements, within and without PVE Procurement

  • Recognize unfavorable supply-chain trends and work with leadership on containment strategies

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and 2-5 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to analyze, organize and summarize large amounts of data into simple or key terms

  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge and MS PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate and make recommendations to management

  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines

  • Proactive, driven, self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Previous automotive/industry experience

  • Strong communication and project management skills

  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement Mindset

  • Experience with wiring harness commodities

  • Experience with order exception management and escalation

  • Supplier tooling, fab shop, existing supply base, work order processes, change management, and confidentiality knowledge and experience
