The Trade, Investment and Food Safety Division (TIFS) expands and diversifies Alberta’s food and bio-product manufacturing sector in local and global markets while also providing effective food safety assurance systems.
The Food and Bio-Processing Branch (FBPB) provides scientific and technical expertise, business development services and specialized facilities to support product/process development, scale up and commercialization of food and non-food products for companies serving local, national, and global markets.

In this key position, you’ll support our sanitation processes, uphold rigorous quality standards, and help create a safe, efficient workspace the entire team depends on.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Processing Technologist to support the daily functioning of our pilot plant facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining sanitation standards, preparing equipment for operational use, assisting with client processing projects, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations. If you enjoy working with a wide range of food processing equipment and value a clean, organized, and safe workspace, this position offers an engaging and varied environment.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this newly created position will be critical in providing support to the operations team. The Facility Processing Technologist supports operational activities within a facility that operates between 06:00 and 17:00 daily.

Minimum Recruitment Standard: Two-year technical diploma in a related field plus six years of direct food processing experience in an industrial setting or related; or equivalent as described below.
