We're seeking a Customer Service Processing Technician I. This is a customer service-focused position located on-site at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit in Garner, North Carolina.
Primary Focus Will Include:
• Providing excellent customer service
• Utilizing mapping and other software applications
• Processing phone and online permit applications for NCDOT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit

This opportunity entails being responsible for analyzing the state highway system infrastructure and ordinance restrictions to establish a safe route for the movement of traffic and specialty vehicles. This position assists with inquiries from local state DOT Division and/or District field offices, the trucking industry, law enforcement agencies, other agencies, citizens, and lawyers primarily to provide guidance and interpretation of State General Statutes, State Administrative Code, Federal Bridge Law, and State DOT policies and procedures related to the movement and routing of loads, vehicles, and vehicle combinations that require permits including but not limited to, exceeding statutory limits.
