Our experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with the Producer to design a feeding program that is specific to their operation.

QualificationsPosition Summary
The Processing Engineer is to work with the Location Fulfillment Manager and/or Production Manager in the operation and processing of manufacturing LNC products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following facets of the operation and mixing of feed, depending on the individual’s location:
Responsibilities & Duties
Develop operational processes and procedures for feed manufacturing, including extrusion, pelleting and blending of feed products.
Develop and evaluate current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training for production/processing personnel at the plant, emphasis on extruder and pellet mill operation, feed blending, and formulation.
Assist in developing and training personnel to follow Preventative Maintenance programs and all equipment maintenance with production/processing and maintenance teams.
Develop management practices to ensure execution of the necessary QA/QC programs, including FSMA compliance and quality control specific to extruded and pelleted feed products.
Review production data and performance metrics, including extruder throughput, pellet durability index (PDI), temperature profiles, and moisture control.
Assist in the design and scaling of grinding hay and production of LNC pelleted and extruded feed products.
Develop SOPs and processes for raw material inventories to assure accurate measurements, control shrink, and maintain product in merchantable condition.
Set production goals for efficiency, including extrusion and pelleting line performance benchmarks.
Educate, implement, and strictly enforce all LNC Safety and Compliance procedures and programs.
Ensure the facility appearance and all personnel represent LNC in a professional manner.
Maintain and evaluate production data to improve LNC pelleted and extruded feed products.
Work on various continuous improvement projects within the LNC system of facilities, including extrusion, pelleting, and feed blending process optimization and product innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or similar experience.
5+ years of experience in feed, food, or general manufacturing.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
Strong sense of Customer Service with both internal and external customers.
Dedication to team environment.
Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast and ever-changing environment.
Demonstrate the ability to lead teams by example.
Safety oriented mindset.
Basic understanding of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) of Feed Manufacturing.
