Job Title: Process Technologist

Department: Technical

Location: Shotton (CH5)

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Closing Date: Sunday 5th April 2026

Tata Steel Colors is an international business with nearly 50 years experience in the development and manufacture of pre-finished steels. The steels produced by the business are applied in many sectors/finished products including building envelope (roof cladding and wall cladding), domestic appliances, consumer products, bakeware and other specialist applications.

We see your potential

As a Process Technologist you will be using your technical expertise to support the manufacturing unit. You will be an essential member of the TRIO day team, working alongside the Process Manager and Electrical/Mechanical Engineers.

You will have process ownership of quality improvements for customers, researching and resolving issues and investigating customer concerns through active participation. You will be analysing and identifying sources of process variability and identifying potential solution and assist in implementation.

You will Need

A degree in a materials science, engineering ro other science-related discipline preferred, although equivalent experience in quality and manufacturing will be considered.

  • You will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Strong problem solving knowledge and experience such as Green Belt or Six Sigma training
  • Strong knowledge of processes, products, quality, surface inspection and technical issues
  • Good knowledge of customer requirements and applications
  • An understanding of, and experience, in applying structured problem solving techniques
  • General IT literacy
  • Strength in written and verbal communications
  • An ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
