FORT MADISON PLANT

General Operator / Process Technician

Required to perform a variety of duties such as:

• Monitor and operate equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.
• Maintain safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.

• Fill product into tank wagons and other smaller containers
• Perform required in process and final quality tests
• Perform minor maintenance functions within their operating area and within their level of expertise.

• Rotate through various roles within the area of responsibility & be available to work overtime
• Perform computer transactions that are required of the role

• Work in a self managed team environment with Lead Operator’s

All General Operator / Process Technician job opportunities will work a 7 day a week 12-hour rotating shift schedule (Average 42hr. /wk.)

Additional Physical Demands / Working Conditions are:

Sitting/standing/walking; Stair climbing, caged ladder climbing;

Turning wrench/valve handles; Bending/stooping/twisting;

Kneeling/crouching/crawling; Reaching above shoulders; Repetitive

motion; Operates mobile equipment; Confined space entry;

Balancing/lifting/carrying; Pushing/pulling; Lifting/carrying 50 pounds

or less; Wear protective clothing including eye, ear, head, and foot

protection; Use of additional PPE such as acid suits, respirators, fire

retardant clothing may be required; Serving on Emergency Response Team

may be required; Noise; Heights; Possible exposure to

dusts/mists/fumes/solvents; Wet/damp/icy walking and working surfaces;

Indoor and outdoor working conditions; Hot, cold, and radiation hazards

Works a 24/7 12 hr. rotating shift schedule (12 hours on and 12 hours off, 2 days on 2 days off, 3 days on 3 days off)

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

It is preferred that qualified candidates possess the following skill sets:

§ Previous manufacturing experience

§ Previous experience operating fork trucks

§ Working knowledge of personal computers

§ A two year Associate Degree or the equivalent

§ Capability to learn quickly and work in a self directed team environment
