Job Summary

Apply fundamental engineering principles to support manufacturing for consistent delivery, enhanced efficiency, reduced

cost, improved sustainability, and maximized profitability. Evaluate material handling, batching and process while

maintaining proper documentation. Contribute cross-functionally in the development, process design, scale up, and

commercialization of new and renovated products following data driven decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement projects focused on efficiency, sustainability, profit and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and demonstrate as a technical resource for the manufacturing and support functions
  • Contribute to solve chronic issues associated with product process
  • Help process tasks on large capital projects
  • Implement trialing of new ingredients and products
  • Contribute process development to meet production; measures process capabilities with the plants.
  • Actively look into material handling, batching, and process and new technology and equipment to improve the

process/efficiency

  • Document batch, process, and equipment changes in Product Lifecycle Management
  • Participating in process - Management of Changes
  • Travel required as needed for business
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Long standing hours on the floor during trials and commercialization

Education and Experience:

  • 0-3 years of dairy/ food and beverage industry experience
  • Exposure to dairy/food industry through internships
  • Entry level BS/MS Agricultural/Biological/Biosystem or Chemical Engineering degree or relevant scientific field of

study

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrates technical knowledge of engineering and/or data analysis.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Hood products and processes.
  • Ability and capacity to manage assigned projects.
  • Utilize knowledge associated with Design of experiments, statistical analysis, and Statistical Process Control.
  • Assist authoring Draft Process Instructions/Specifications and Semi Finished Goods Specifications

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

The pay range for this position is

$77,000—$84,000 USD
