As a Process Systems Engineer at our Staverton site, you'll provide technical leadership as a system and product specialist. You'll help optimise system performance, improve product quality, enable continuous improvement and build operational capability across the factory.

Your Impact

In this role, you'll help improve how our factory systems perform, how consistently we deliver product quality and how confidently our operational teams use technical standards and problem-solving tools. You'll connect engineering, manufacturing, R&D and improvement activity to support safe, efficient and reliable production.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and product quality, using structured improvement tools to deliver measurable factory impact.
  • Technical Capability: Develop and deliver technical training in operations, cereal chemistry and technology, helping operators build confidence and capability.
  • Engineering Support: Support engineering improvements, product and process trials, start-ups and capital project activity so changes are implemented safely and effectively.
  • Process Standards: Develop and maintain operating standards, system capacity studies and technical documentation to support consistent performance across the site.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical link between operations, engineering, R&D and wider CPW, General Mills and Nestlé networks, sharing knowledge and supporting manufacturing testing and handovers.
  • Problem Solving: Use factory data and everyday problem-solving methods to resolve system issues and support reliable production performance.

Your Ingredients for Success

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a blend of engineering or food science knowledge, process improvement capability and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across manufacturing, technical and project environments.

Essential

  • Qualification: An engineering qualification in electrical and automation, mechanical or chemical engineering, or a qualification in food science.
  • Process Engineering: Experience of process plant environments and process engineering within a manufacturing setting.
  • Project Delivery: Experience delivering projects or improvements while working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Safety, Engineering and Quality: Knowledge of safety, engineering and quality regulations, with the ability to apply standards in a factory environment.
  • Food Safety: Knowledge of food safety requirements and the ability to contribute to validating HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) activity.
  • Communication and Coaching: Ability to share technical information clearly and support the development of operational teams.

Desirable

  • Cereal Manufacturing: Knowledge of raw and packaging materials used in the production of breakfast cereals.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools and methods.
  • Cross-Network Working: Experience working across manufacturing networks or supporting knowledge sharing across different sites or teams.

To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future.

We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today, we employ around 273,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020.

Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category – offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families.
