Your role and responsibilities
As the Treasury Process Solution and Data Architect, this person will own the end to end finance business process architecture and solutioning for Treasury Process covering all relevant global finance applications related to the Treasury end-to-end process.This position will play a pivotal role in translating business requirements into system solutioning in collaboration with respective functional architects of related finance application. It is also a visionary role to enable forward planning roadmaps for the respective area.

This role is contributing to the Finance Services business Finance Process Data Systems division in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ownership of process system design and architecture covering all related Global Finance Systems of ABB for Treasury Process. Includes ownership of forward looking Process Roadmaps from a Technology perspective. Accountable to review and approve new solution (including updates to existing solutions) to be implemented in ABB Global Finance applications keeping the design of integrity, security and compliance of finance processes.

  • Lead business requirements discussions providing strong systems understanding and ability to demonstrate how the finance application can be configured to meet business needs. Define the functional solution and ensures alignment with other modules and surrounding FPDS/IS applications through collaboration across FPDS/IS solution architects and FPDS/IS delivery units. Conduct complex and interactive solution workshops with required stakeholders to to decide which requirements are covered by available standard functionalities, for which functionalities enhancements are needed and for which functionalities workarounds are accepted.

  • Support validation and prioritization of incoming business demand relating to finance applications, in collaboration with the relevant FPDS/IS Application Manager, FPDS/IS Service Manager and ERP Domain Lead. Review and sign off the functional and technical use case specifications Ensure creation and maintenance of Finance systems process design documents related to Treasury Process.

  • Collaborate with IS Incident Management in detecting re-occurring defects due to design defects and initiate action to eliminate the root cause. Collaborate with IS Capabilities and Service Performance Excellence team to improve, define, maintain and optimize building processes and standards.

  • Ensure adherence to Corporate Finance and IS Policies and Procedures, as well as to both internal Finance Business Process & Data Architect requirements and external legislation. Provide guidance to FPDS/IS application service delivery unit team and to FPDS/IS project management in how to utilize IS application/solution standards effectively. Proactively assess the systems architecture currently in place and work with the functional and technical architects to recommend solutions to improve it; including reviewing new technology.


Qualifications for the role

Education

  • Bachelor Degree or post graduation in Economics/Finance/Accounting/Business Engineering or similar field

  • Certification in SAP GCM, SAP FICO or S/4 HANA ideally in Central Finance is desired

Experience:

  • 10+ years of work experience in Finance and Accounting or business operations or with ERP Center of Excellence, of which at least 5+ years of process design and solutioning experience covering Treasury Management (including SAP Exposure Management).

  • Proven track record of visualization and creating solution designs, leading design thinking sessions for a specific service line solution and leading implementation teams for respective solutions.

  • SAP GCM experience is critical for this role.

  • Solid track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Treasury business process owners, IT teams, and external vendors, to deliver business-aligned technology solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of system design, data flows, and integration methodologies.

  • Proficiency in using business process management (BPM) tools such as Signavio/Celonis is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, Central Finance (CFIN), and related SAP modules. Special focus on SAP GCM.

  • Deep knowledge of supporting technologies and functional Central Finance capabilities, including industry best practices.

  • In-depth knowledge of Treasury related system integrations, particularly between SAP and non-SAP applications, and experience with cloud-based solutions.

Leadership & Communication Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead solutioning efforts, guiding the functional & technical architects and developers through solution design and delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership, with ability to listen, advise, empathize, explain.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional challenges.
