Job Description

Position Summary:

The NPI Process Quality Engineer in Wuhan plant will be responsible for the NPI projects running and effective supervision of NPI Process Quality, NPI Product Receiving inspection & Final Inspection and Metrology. Co-work with NPI team & project team to flawless launch NPI in terms of product design, process design and know-how transfer.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for plant level internal specific NPI projects E2E quality activities, including process quality problem solving production line validation, machine capability verification, production line function and traceability verification, all related documentation preparation and storage.
  2. Support plant other functions NPI team for detail NPI activities. (Process design, Tooling design, Gauge list review, documentation preparation, Master list, L&L input, etc.)
  3. Support plant NPI ODT/PPAP activities (From phase3 to phase6), including ODT/PPAP production kick off assessment and evaluation after production from quality point of view, tracking NPI open issues which linked to quality.
  4. Support to providing quality data of NPI production. (RTY/Scrap rate/defect pareto chart, etc.)
  5. Attend NPI Tier II and Tier III meetings communicating all issues related to customer, process and supplier
  6. Coordinate with metrology the gaging requirements for NPI and day to day operations.
  7. Providing necessary support to APU quality team for problem solving, quality risk prediction/prevention/protection when asked for support. Supporting APU quality problem solving if good LL already had in NPI phase.

Qualifications Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relative major
  2. 3+ years process quality working experience in automotive industry
  3. Good understanding of tooling, machining and laser welding processes.
  4. Experience in process improvement, statistical techniques for process improvement, development of PFMEA's, Control Plans, Gage Plans.
  5. Familiar with APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, GD&T.
  6. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and application for reduction of defects and waste - ability to proactively work with manufacturing engineering to improve processes, maintain stability with focus on zero defects to our customers and reduction of waste and scrap internally
  7. Experience in Quality Systems IATF16949 preferable
  8. Good English skill in reading and writing, good English speaking is preferable
  9. Responsive and responsible to deliver on commitments.
