Job Description

Cleanaway’s Rutherford Oil Refinery is seeking a dynamic Mechanical fitter to join their team. Operating out of their site-based workshop, you will be integral in ensuring Plant Preventive and Corrective maintenance activities, as well as breakdowns, are carried out in a timely manner and to site standards

Refinery Mechanical Fitter

  • Permanent - Full-time position - Rutherford, NSW
  • Pay rate of $48 to $50.72 per hour + penalties for overtime based on skills and experience
  • Monday to Friday + overtime available as required
  • Flexible working arrangements, including opportunity for RDOs and flexible starting time

The Opportunity:

  • Performing all activities safely
  • Perform fault/maintenance diagnostic activities & complete repairs as required to ensure continuous operation of the plant.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services relating to the plant. This includes assisting in the organisation of shutdowns
  • Plan regular maintenance activities. Recommend and implement improvements to fixed plant and work practices
  • Supervision of contractors onsite
  • Documentation of maintenance activities, maintenance of databases and generation of purchasing requests
  • Perform fabrication activities in accordance with blueprints or schematic drawings including any minor welding repairs as required, set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.

About You:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (AUS) or National Certificate in Automotive Machining – Level 4(NZ) or equivalent.
  • Boilermaker trades who have been working in Mechanical roles encouraged to apply
  • Experience with Pumps, Compressors, High pressure valves and flanges
  • Forklift license, EWP license, Confined space and working at heights are highly advantageous
  • Computer literacy is essential for this role
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Demonstrated experience in fault-finding and repairing a range of machinery
