About the Role:
To set up and operate gas, electric, and vacuum type furnaces and ovens, heat treat equipment, and auxiliary or related equipment. to braze of heat treat developmental, first run and production parts and assemblies.
What You Will Do:
Work from established operation instructions, specifications, oral and written instructions and utilize a working knowledge of metal reaction to heating and quenching to set up and operate controlled atmosphere ovens by controlling temperature and atmosphere to properly braze developmental and production assemblies.
Prepare braze tempering and heat treating loads for oven by measuring dimensions and shimming part in fixture to assure required dimensions.
Check for proper installation of specified thermocouple, gas, and vacuum lines to control panels and tooling fixtures, and be setting all oven and atmosphere controls to predetermined specifications.
Position tooling fixtures in oven exercising care to properly braze and prevent damage to structure.
Observe thermocouple and oven control readings and determine and control exacting conditions necessary in oven temperatures and atmosphere to assure uniform heating and cool down and/or prevent a dangerous or damaging oven atmosphere condition and follow prescribed corrective procedures.
Remove fixture from oven and control cool down to proper temperature prior to unloading.
Operate heat treat equipment to perform annealing, normalizing, case, and surface hardening, drawing, carburizing, tempering, and quenching operations.
Work on developmental, first run and production parts, and record data for reference.
Maintain necessary records and charts per specifications. Work shift assignments will be determined by seniority.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Basic data entry into computer (E-log, SFIS)
Ability to lift parts and fixtures.
Ability to work overtime as needed
Willing to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of applicable experience and training in the operation of vacuum furnaces.
2-5 years of experience using hand and power tools.

Pay Range:
$21.00 - $32.45
