Across our region we have 833 wastewater treatment sites, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining several of our Wastewater Treatment Works and associated sewage pumping stations in line with environmental permits to company Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health and Safety requirements. This will include:
· Taking responsibility for operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect environment; general maintenance of equipment and site, taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance
· Taking responsibility for identifying and where applicable undertaking reactive work as required. Raising reactive work for equipment when required and liaising with multi-discipline craft team on facilitating repairs
· Identifying potential pollution risks from our assets, taking measures to prevent pollution, and escalating when required
· Liaising and coordinating with the area Supervisor and team members on operating activities and continuous improvement for the area
· Taking responsibility for personal and colleagues’ safety through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures
· Understanding and adhering to quality system requirements to ensure audit compliance
· Taking ownership of sites, ensuring house-keeping standards are maintained and defects reported
· Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites
· Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation
· Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business
· Participating in out of hours standby rota.
