Who We Are

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

You are a highly skilled professional with experience in heap leach and Merrill-Crowe operations. Your expertise includes the operation and maintenance of various processing equipment, such as pumps, piping, clarifiers, and filter presses. You are well-versed in the operation of forklifts and track dozers, ensuring the smooth functioning of all equipment.

As a Process Operator, you would report to the Merrill-Crowe Process Supervisor. This is a safety sensitive position.

What You Do

• Perform the day-to-day operation of the Merrill-Crowe Recovery Plant and heap leach pad, including assisting in the refinery.
• Monitor and balance solution flows from the heap leach pad to the pump box and Merrill-Crowe Plant.
• Install conveyance and distribution piping on the heap leach pad.
• Level crushed ore and construct roads utilizing track dozer on the heap leach pad.
• Insure proper solution distribution on the heap leach pad.
• Monitor and optimize gold and silver recoveries using an AA analyzer and make appropriate changes as needed.
• Perform inspections periodically throughout the shift of the entire heap leach facility to ensure solution containment.
• Perform solution analyses for solution grade, CN concentration and pH periodically throughout the shift.
• Perform minor equipment repairs as needed.
• Perform the day-to-day operation of the water system.
• Assists with training new process operators.
• Assist with the development of methods and procedures.
• Perform all work in a manner to achieve a zero level of incidents in the process department.
• Participate in process department safety meetings.
• Offer ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement of heap leach facility operations.
• Additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Experience in heap leach and Merrill-Crowe operations.
• Experience with operation and maintenance of processing equipment including but not limited to pumps, piping, clarifiers, and filter presses.
• Experience in operation of forklifts and track dozer.
• Good computer skills.
• Experience in metallurgical and environmental procedures and quality controls.
• Effective communication skills, solid interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• High work standards and a professional presence.
• Results-oriented and a solid team member.
• Able to drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver license.
