Process Operative (Press & Aseptic) – Be Part of the Journey from Orchard to Product

As a Process Operative (Press & Aseptic), you will play an important role in transforming apples into high-quality juice products while supporting aseptic packing operations. Working within a close-knit production team, you will be involved in the pressing, processing and packing of products, ensuring that production is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop technical manufacturing skills across both apple processing and aseptic production operations. You'll be working at the heart of the manufacturing process, helping deliver products that meet customer expectations every day.

What You'll Be Doing

Working as part of the Press & Aseptic team, you'll support the production process from raw material preparation through to finished product, maintaining quality, safety and operational excellence throughout.

Key Responsibilities

1. Press & Aseptic Line Operation

  • Operate the apple presses in line with company procedures and/or run the aseptic line and complete production batches.

2. Cleaning & Sterilisation

  • Clean and sterilize plant, tanks and pipework before and after use.

3. Product Preparation & Quality Standards

  • Grade apples in line with company requirements and/or prepare drums, IBCs and bags for production.

4. Production Records & Communication

  • Ensure electronic records are completed correctly and timely.
  • Communicate with planners and other departments as required.

5. Team Support & Flexibility

  • Assist with other duties within other departments during press shut-down and at other necessary times.

Working Pattern

This role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern, providing a structured work schedule and offering longer periods of time away from work between shifts.

Week 1 – 6am – 2pm

Week 2 – 2pm – 10pm

Week 3 - 10pm – 6am

Skills and Relevant Work Experience

Essential

  • Competent in Excel, Word and ERP systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver against production targets.
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to support different production areas when required.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a food and drink manufacturing environment.
  • FLT licence.

Our Total Rewards package includes a base salary of £26,700.00 - £35,100.00 (posting salary range) plus a 5.5% target annual bonus, alongside a comprehensive benefits offering designed to support different needs and life stages. Benefits are flexible and include health, dental and vision coverage, a pension with up to 10% employer match, wellbeing support, an Employee Assistance Programme, life leave, and 31 days’ annual leave plus 3 bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional holiday.

The salary range shown above reflects what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting. Final pay is based on a number of non‑discriminatory factors, such as required work location, previous experience, skills and internal equity.
