Job Description

As a Process Operative (Cyder), you will play a key role in producing high-quality cyder products from fermentation through to packaging preparation. Working within a close-knit production team, you will be involved in all stages of the cyder making process, including transferring liquids between storage vessels, weighing and mixing ingredients, fermentation of apple juice to produce cyder, product filtration and blending. Additionally, laboratory testing, process monitoring, cleaning and accurate data entry is required to ensure product quality and consistency.

This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop technical manufacturing skills while contributing directly to the production of products enjoyed by customers across the UK and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

Working as part of the Cyder Production team, you'll be involved in every stage of the production process, helping to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cyder Preparation and Production

• Assist in the day to day operation of preparing, fermenting and storing of cyder for use in draught, bottling and vinegar production.

2. Cleaning and Sterilisation

• Clean and sterilize plant, tanks and pipework before and after use.

3. Fermentation Monitoring

• Monitoring of fermentation performance.

4. Filtration, Blending and Packaging

• Preparing cyder for filtration ready for packaging.
• Blending of cyder products.
• Filling bulk containers as required to meet customer orders.
• Packaging bulk into keg product.

5. Record Management

• Ensuring correct records are kept and are up to date.

Working Pattern

This role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern, providing a structured working schedule and longer periods of time away from work between shifts. 2 days, 2 nights (6am – 2pm and 6pm – 6am)

Skills and Relevant Work Experience

Essential

• Competent in Excel, Word and ERP systems.
• Great oral and written communication skills.
• A good eye for detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team and alone.
• Ability to meet deadlines and delivery against targets.

Desirable

• Experience of working within a food/drink manufacturing facility.
• FLT licence.

Our Total Rewards package includes a base salary of £26,700.00 - £35,100.00 (posting salary range) plus a 5.5% target annual bonus, alongside a comprehensive benefits offering designed to support different needs and life stages.
