As a Process Improvement Specialist – Digital Manufacturing Execution System in the Quality Production team at the GE Vernova site in Birr, you will take a key role in the long-term development, governance and continuous improvement of our digital manufacturing environment.
You will design, implement and optimize digital manufacturing workflows and processes, ensuring effective integration between shopfloor operations and enterprise systems. Through your work, you will enable sustainable digitalization across production and quality, improve process reliability and data quality, and support the expansion of digital manufacturing solutions across Rotor, Hot Gas Path and repair operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Take long-term ownership for the operation, development and continuous optimization of the digital manufacturing execution environment across Rotor, Generator and Hot Gas Path production
  • Own the transition from project-based implementation to stable, standardized and continuously improving digital operations across multiple production areas
  • Continuously expand and optimize digital production and quality workflows as manufacturing processes, products, systems and business requirements evolve
  • Maintain and further develop interfaces between the manufacturing execution environment and enterprise systems such as ERP and PLM
  • Establish and maintain standards for digital production documentation, workflows, data quality and electronic approvals to ensure consistent execution across production areas
  • Monitor system adoption, process performance and data quality, driving corrective actions and Lean improvements to reduce workload and improve Right First-Time performance
  • Act as the long-term interface between Production, Quality, Engineering and IT/System Technology, while providing ongoing training, user support and change management
  • Drive future digitalization initiatives and support the expansion of the digital manufacturing environment into additional production and repair areas

What you bring – Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
  • Professional experience in manufacturing process improvement, production engineering or industrial digitalization
  • Practical experience with digital manufacturing systems, MES, production documentation or workflow solutions
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production quality requirements and digital traceability
  • Experience in process analysis and optimization, including AS-IS / TO-BE analysis and structured problem solving
  • Experience working with ERP, PLM or other enterprise systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing or implementing digital workflows, forms, reporting or process automation solutions
  • Strong analytical and structured working approach, with the ability to manage complex cross-functional topics
  • SharePoint + Power Automate + Power BI development/architecture
  • Experience with SAP + PLM systems such as Enovia/Teamcenter
  • Good communication skills in English and German

What distinguishes you?

  • Hands-on MES implementation and long-term system ownership
  • Combination of mechanical/manufacturing engineering and software/digital process development
  • Experience with large, complex, low-volume manufacturing, ideally turbines, generators, rotors or similar equipment
  • Ability to design end-to-end digital manufacturing workflows, from process definition through implementation, user adoption and continuous improvement
  • Experience connecting shopfloor processes, quality requirements and enterprise IT systems
  • Strong Lean background combined with digital transformation experience
