Job Description

Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting fab or assembly activities. Four 10s Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm

Position Summary

As a Material Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the designated division or department through the gathering, organizing and record keeping of needed materials and documents. This includes engineered documents and lists, inventory controls, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating the stocking and restocking of material needs throughout a designated shop area. The following outlines the primary duties and responsibilities for this position.

Essential Responsibilities

• Must learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidents.
• Must learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent production.
• Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
• Organizing and managing buyout and customer ship loose, both the material as well as ensuring any ship loose gets added to the engineering ship loose list.
• Communicate with staff and production control team to request material and identify material shortages.
• Fill ship loose containers with appropriate items per engineered ship loose lists.
• Maintain records of gathered or shortage materials.
• May utilize a forklift to transport, load and unload materials.
• Responsible for the organization and upkeep of the different materials stored in the ship loose staging area and outside containers.
• Responsible for organizing and keeping track of larger ship loose material.
• Responsible for delivering kit material from staging area to the designated projects
