Job Description

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.

The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Contract Logistics site in the Netherlands. This role focuses on evaluating, standardising, and optimising operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Working closely with site leadership, operational teams, and subject matter experts (SMEs), the role leads the identification, design, and implementation of process improvements aligned with business objectives, ISO 9001 standards, and customer-specific requirements.

The position plays a key role in embedding a culture of operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the site.

Essential Job Functions:

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the review, mapping, and documentation of end-to-end warehouse and logistics processes (inbound, outbound, value-added services, inventory control)
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risks, and develop practical, scalable improvement solutions
  • Drive Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance service delivery
  • Promote standardisation of processes and best practices across the site

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, IT, Engineering, and Customer teams to assess and redesign processes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership on process optimisation and performance improvement
  • Engage with customers where required to align process improvements with contractual and service expectations.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all processes are documented, controlled, and maintained in line with ISO 9001:2015 and internal QMS requirements
  • Work closely with the Quality function to support audits, corrective actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure process changes are properly validated, communicated, and embedded into operations

Systems & Data

  • Act as the site lead for process optimisation within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related operational systems
  • Ensure system integrity, correct configuration, and alignment with operational processes
  • Analyse operational data and trends to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making

Implementation & Change Management

  • Lead implementation of process improvements, ensuring minimal operational disruption
  • Develop and deliver training materials and SOP updates to support process changes
  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of new processes, ensuring sustainable improvements

Performance & Reporting

  • Define, implement, and track KPIs to measure process performance and improvement outcomes
  • Provide regular reporting to site and regional leadership on improvement initiatives, risks, and results
  • Prepare structured reports, including analysis, insights, and recommendations

Governance & Local Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with Dutch labour practices and, where applicable, requirements when implementing operational changes
  • Support safe, compliant, and efficient operations in line with local regulations and company policies

Other

  • Support strategic projects, site start-ups, or customer implementations as required
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements:

The role involves a combination of office-based and warehouse floor activities, including:

  • Extended periods of computer use
  • Walking and standing within a warehouse environment
  • Occasional domestic and international travel

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies (preferred)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in contract logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations
  • Proven experience in process improvement / continuous improvement roles
  • Experience in project management and cross-functional initiatives
  • Prior leadership or team coordination experience is advantageous
