The opportunity
Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions. Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems. Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency: Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.
How you’ll make an impact
Define, develop, and standardize end-to-end manufacturing processes for dry bushings (resin-impregnated, RIP/RIS or equivalent technologies).
Establish process parameters for critical operations such as insulation build-up, resin impregnation, curing, machining, assembly, and final inspection.
Ensure process capability (Cp/Cpk) and repeatability across production lines.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for internal defects, field failures, and customer complaints using structured methods (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA).
Define corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
Support qualification, validation, and re-validation of manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with Quality teams to drive zero-defect manufacturing and right-first-time performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, cycle time, scrap reduction, and cost competitiveness.
Define process FMEA, control plans, and work instructions for new products.
Specify, validate, and improve manufacturing equipment, molds, tooling, and fixtures.
Train production, quality, and engineering teams on process fundamentals, critical parameters, and best practices.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process guidelines, and technical documentation.
Build organizational capability through mentoring and technical coaching.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with EHS requirements, especially for resin handling, curing, and chemical exposure.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
