Job Description

About the role:

As a Process Expert at our Halle site, you will be part of the local Process Technology team and play a key role in how new products, processes and innovations come to life. You will lead NPI (New Product Introductions), PTF (Product Transfers) and innovative projects, ensuring smooth factory trials, correct process setup and high-performing production lines.
Your work will directly impact efficiency, safety, quality, waste reduction and overall operational performance. By translating technical insights into clear work instructions and collaborating closely with operations, engineering, planning and CI&TS teams, you help elevate the entire site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead NPI, PTF and innovation projects for the site, including First Time Makes (factory trials).
  • Build and configure product recipes in SCADA (BC Batch), set standards in SAP, and update documentation, work instructions and POKA materials.
  • Collaborate with CI&TS on new product feasibility, capability, costing and recipe set-up.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workstreams to ensure smooth implementation of new developments.
  • Capture process mappings, trial learnings and align with Process Engineers and CI&TS.
  • Conduct consumption and quality analyses; work with R&D when mismatches arise.
  • Develop and implement Work Instructions for all new product processes and Pack-BOM creations.
  • Work closely with all local operational departments and with global Process Excellence, CI&TS and Quality teams.

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial or Bioengineering).
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and good understanding of English.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a technical or operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and common office software; experience with MES, Siemens S7 or Poka is a plus.
  • Strong coaching and training mindset, able to influence operators, team leads and supervisors.
  • Analytical and structured, with the ability to optimize and standardize processes.
  • Capable of switching easily between shopfloor detail and broader departmental perspective.
  • Creative, solution-oriented, flexible and energetic.
  • Confident communicator with ability to present clearly and convincingly.
  • Potential to grow into a CI Manager or Department Manager role.

We offer:

  • 38 days of annual leave.
  • Flexible working hours — start between 7:00 and 9:30, working 7h45 per day.
  • Meal allowance — €10/day.
  • Eco‑cheque — €250/year.
  • Transport allowance.
  • Bicycle allowance — €0.37/km.
  • Group insurance.
  • Health and dental insurance for you and your family.
  • Work in one of Barry Callebaut’s key Belgian manufacturing sites with strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Internal mobility and talent development opportunities, locally and globally.
