Amazon has exciting opportunities for leaders in Operations Management within our rapidly expanding Sub Same Day (SSD) network in Japan. Our dynamic environment offers candidates significant challenges in front-line management and driving scalable, continuous improvements across our fulfillment centers, supply chain, and last-mile delivery teams.

As SSD Process Excellence Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of leaders with the objectives to pursue variation reduction and build mechanisms to drive compliance toward the standards. You will be responsible for the prioritization of efforts for an operational process to reduce variation from the standards and ultimately improve process control and performance. This role requires the ability to insist on the highest standards for process execution, interpret data, and lead through influence to deliver meaningful results translating to tangible operational excellence gains across the SSD network.

Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate performance objectives and metrics across the network to lead process improvement opportunities.
- Work backwards to develop clear roadmaps/milestones of how your network will improve across material process paths.
- Partner with regional leaders to execute implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and process improvements driving stabilization and standardization across the network.
- Execute, measure and support communication of project impacts in partnership with the site leaders responsible for day to day operations.
- Objectively analyze complex situations and execute on immediate and time-bound action items.
- Motivate and influence individuals of all levels to deliver results on complex objectives.

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Mathematics, Economics, Physics or another technical field
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Intermediate level written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
