SEL isseeking aPlasticsEngineering Technician,to joinourPlastics Engineeringteam inLewiston, IdahoThis hands-on role is critical todelivering custom injection molded production to all SEL production sitesIn this role, you will collaborate closely with production tofacilitatethetimelychange-over and start-up of injection molding machines and supportequipment You will support andleadtroubleshooting efforts that resolve quality events andidentifyrootcause You will perform new tooling evaluationsand newprocess development,includingautomation on machines, and completion of first article inspections There will be opportunitiestodevelop andutilizerobotic programming skills, createnewautomated inspection processes, troubleshootvarious automated assemblycellsand secondary operation automation You willbe requiredto perform process improvements, collect data, create and completedocumentation,while followingWorld Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.If you enjoy fast-paced, detail-oriented work, with opportunities andlong-termtechnical progression, we invite you to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.

2. Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.

3. Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures.

4. Manage the procurement of assembly process tools.

5. Train operators and support staff as needed.

6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

7. Understand. Create. Simplify.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience

Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role

Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems

Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments

Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery

Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis

Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics

Physical Requirements

Pay Range

Process Engineering Technician I $32.88 - $48.60 per hour. We base our starting pay on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location
