Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Process Engineering Team Managerto provide technical leadership, peoplemanagementand engineering excellence across our Process Engineering Team. This is a senior role within the Engineering Team, responsible for leading process engineering design and assurance across water and water recycling projects from feasibility through to construction and delivery.
You will act as a subject matter expert, supportingmulti‑disciplinaryproject teams to deliver safe, compliant andvalue‑drivensolutions, while mentoring and developing engineers with a range of experiencewhile supporting the continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices This role is hybrid,predominantlyoffice‑basedwith occasional site and supplier visits.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide technical leadership and subject matterexpertisein process engineering, supporting the development and delivery of robust water and water recycling solutions across the project lifecycle. You will lead,manageand develop a team of Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineers, overseeing performance, capabilitydevelopmentand wellbeing in line with company policies.
You will be accountable for engineering excellence,developingand applying Anglian Water standards, reviewing and approving process designs and documentation, and challenging solutions to ensure they are safe, compliant, sustainable and represent bestwhole‑lifevalue. You will support optioneering, detailed design,off‑sitebuild and standard product solutions, and contribute to technical governance, HAZOPs, design riskassessmentsand acceptance testing.
You will manage team budgets in collaboration with the Engineering Manager, supportrecruitmentand professional development, and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering practices. Working collaboratively with delivery partners, operations,contractorsand suppliers, you will provide expert input to projects,frameworksand technical standards.
You will champion health and safety through design, promote Anglian Water’s SaferEvery Dayculture, and ensure designscomply withall statutory,regulatoryand internal standards.
What Does It Take to Be a Process Engineering Team Manager?
Significant experiencein process engineering within water or wastewater environments
Proven technical leadership experience, including design review,assuranceand standards development
Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineers at different career stages
Strong understanding of safety in design, HAZOP, riskreductionand regulatory compliance
Ability to manage competing priorities and support delivery across multiple projects
Strong communication,influencingand collaborative working skills
Experience working withinmulti‑disciplinaryproject teams
Commitment to sustainability,low‑carbondesign and continuous improvement
