Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Scope of Position

Under the supervision of a Process Engineer, the accepted candidate will work on projects to support process improvements applied to the Environmental Technologies processes. These projects may include evaluating the impacts of process variables on end product attributes, identifying incoming product attributes that impact the firing process yield, and projects geared at increasing manufacturing throughput through firing process innovation.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate Level Engineering program; preference for Material Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • To be considered for an internship at Corning Incorporated, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a Bachelor’s Degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis
  • Working knowledge or experience with design of experiments (DOE) concepts
  • Time management and ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent critical analysis, and logic/reasoning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills; ability to interact with management and team members
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Role requires regular walking and/or standing, must be able to walk/stand 8-hours per day
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
