
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support our printed circuit board manufacturing team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in PCB fabrication while collaborating with process engineers to improve workflows and document processes. This is a great opportunity for a local university student who is available to work full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year. As a Process Engineer Intern, a typical day might include the following:
Implement, modify, and document assembly processes.
Assist project execution, conduct experiments, collect and report results
Assist new processes and new component qualification
Design, implement, and modify tooling for process improvement
Provide support to engineering staff and management as needed.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Understand. Create. Simplify.
Other duties as assigned.
This job might be for you if:
Current student pursuing a degree in an engineering or mathematics field at a local accredited institution
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience troubleshooting process machinery problems
Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
Working knowledge of electronics industry manufacturing processes and machinery
Familiarity with modern test equipment

Pay Range Data
($24.25 - $33.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
