We have sawmills, board, furniture components and furniture production.

At IKEA Industry Älmhult, more than 200 committed co-workers manufacture millions of furniture fronts every year. Through modern production, automation and continuous improvement, we create products that reach IKEA customers around the world.

We are now looking for a Process Engineer to strengthen our Technical Team and play a key role in developing our packaging and finishing operations.

Why this role matters

As a Process Engineer, you will work close to production, supporting our packaging and inspection area where quality, efficiency and process stability are critical to our success.

A significant part of the role will be focused on an upcoming supplier transition, where you will help secure a successful implementation of new manufacturing solutions. This includes planning and executing industrial trials, validating process performance, coordinating cross-functional activities and ensuring production readiness.

Your assignment

As a Process Engineer you will:

  • Develop, optimize and standardize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery performance and productivity.
  • Lead and support implementation of new supplier solutions, materials, equipment and production methods.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute industrial trials, process validations and production readiness activities.
  • Analyse production and process data to identify trends, variation and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies and structured problem solving.
  • Apply risk management tools such as FMEA, process capability analysis and control plans to create robust and sustainable manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional projects related to process development, industrialisation and operational excellence.
  • Create and maintain process standards, work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Support digitalisation, automation and data-driven ways of working.
  • Coach and support production teams in technical methods and continuous improvement practices.


Qualification

We are looking for someone who

  • Has an Engineering degree or equivalent experience within manufacturing or industrial production.
  • Has experience in process development, process optimisation or continuous improvement.
  • Has experience working with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Enjoys working close to operations while also driving long-term improvements.
  • Has strong analytical skills and enjoys making decisions based on facts and data.
  • Has experience from implementation projects, supplier transitions, industrialisation or process validation activities.
  • Is comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across different functions.
  • Communicates fluently in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
