TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from planning through implementation.
  • Coordinate with operations, quality, maintenance, and suppliers on project activities.
  • Analyze metallurgical and mechanical data to support process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related issues.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support production trials, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track project progress, document findings, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Provide shop-floor support while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and execute manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Analyze metallurgical and mechanical processes to improve performance.
  • Troubleshoot production, equipment, and material-related issues.
  • Support process validation, production trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or industrial engineering environments.
  • Experience with project management, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials behavior, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with heat treatment, casting, forging, or capital equipment projects preferred.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Project management (scope, schedule, cost, and risk management).
  • Metallurgical analysis and materials engineering knowledge.
  • Mechanical systems design and evaluation.
  • Manufacturing process and production support experience.
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Supplier/contractor coordination and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with heat treatment processes and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, or similar software.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with heat treatment, forging, casting, or steel manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects and plant installations.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Creo, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Structured problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong prioritization, time management, ownership, and accountability.
