This is an entry level position for recent engineering (or similar technical degrees) graduates or individuals with applicable tire manufacturing related experiences. This position supports, assists or leads initiatives and/or projects, seeks solutions to technical challenges, leads and participates in plant assessments and audits, and ensures that plant actions are adequate and effective.
• Take a leadership function in the area of plant processes. • Assist in the standardization of control plans and auditing process, with focus in areas of expertise per ISO/IATF requirements. • Provide necessary quality support to plant upon request with focus on process improvement. • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects in all areas of the plant. • Ability to validate process and test method activities by developing and executing procedures for new or existing products or processes. • Develop and implement statistical methods and design of experiments to support process/product control and improvement. • Work with all departments in the development of new processes, initiatives, and projects to provide necessary cross-functionality and risk mitigation. • Work closely with the various OE teams including technical, commercial, program management, factory, and QE to gain and expand OE business. Work may include direct contact with relative OEM experts. • Presentation of data in a clear and effective manner. • Able to work nights and weekends as necessary. • Support other roles and responsibilities as needed.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills as role requires global interaction for support, audits and training. • Knowledge and experience with statistical methods, such as regression and correlation. High level understanding of statistical packages and databases, especially Microsoft office and Mini tab. • Ability to accomplish assignments in a logical fashion, using existing technology and standardized methodologies. • Good knowledge of data analysis tools, especially Microsoft office and Mini tab. • Ability to work in and lead cross-functional problem-solving teams. • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks and goals.
• Bachelors degree preferred • COOP’s, Internships, or other industrial / manufacturing experiences • 3-5 years of experience with rubber industry preferred • Understanding of mixing, extruding, tire building, curing, and final finish TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: • Up to 4 months overseas training and one-month training in Continental U. S. Domestic and overseas travel as needed (up to 15%).
