Job Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify process improvements, support new product launches, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to achieve production, quality, and cost objectives.
- Analyze production data and process performance to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues, quality concerns, and equipment downtime.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow charts, and control plans.
- Support new equipment installation, process validation, and production line launches.
- Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to ensure process capability and compliance with customer requirements.
- Participate in APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and other quality system activities as required.
- Conduct time studies and line balancing activities to optimize labor and equipment utilization.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend automation opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Monitor key process indicators and implement corrective actions when performance targets are not achieved.
- Coordinate engineering changes and ensure successful implementation into production.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical training and support to production personnel and other team members.
AUTHORITY & SCOPE This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting high-volume production operations
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, and PDCA.
- Experience with production equipment, automation systems, and/or process controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint. .
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field
- Experience in automotive, battery, EV, or Tier 1 supplier manufacturing environments.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
- Experience with automated assembly, robotics, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management systems
