Job Description

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for improving and stabilizing optical manufacturing processes to ensure high product quality, yield, and operational efficiency. The Process Engineer analyzes process performance, identifies root causes of defects, and implements process improvements using engineering and statistical methods. The role contributes to continuous manufacturing optimization and supports reliable mass production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze optical manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities in yield, quality, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to materials, process parameters, or equipment and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using statistical tools such as DOE, SPC, and data analysis.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters to ensure process stability and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and equipment teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Support documentation of process specifications, work instructions, and process changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with cost reduction and operational excellence goals

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering related fields.
  • Experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in optical, electronics, or precision manufacturing industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in statistical analysis.
  • Experience using DOE, SPC, or similar process optimization tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing or process issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Valuable addition: experience in optical communication products or fiber optic components. Familiarity with optical measurement systems such as insertion loss or return loss testing.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments.
