Job Location: Sheboygan SP - Sheboygan, WI 53081
Job Shift: DayAs a Process Engineer you will improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of production processes and equipment through the application of engineering principles. Facilitate trials, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations with careful planning, documentation, and communication. Support production and maintenance through root cause analysis.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Work with manufacturing departments to improve current production processes. Improvements would include, but not be limited to productivity improvements, set up time reductions, overall efficiencies improvements, and/or scrap reduction initiatives.
• Assist in providing technical support as it applies to changes to the production process.
• Work with subsidiary manufacturing departments as liaison to assist in the implementation of suggested improvement to the process and production procedures.
• Assist with the launches of new and/or different production projects.
• Specify new equipment and upgrade requirements alongside the maintenance team and third-party vendors.
• Assess the processability of new products through production scale trials.
• Commission new lines and equipment.
• Work with related departments to implement work instructions and routines.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve safety, reliability, and efficiency challenges facing production and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed:
Required Education, Experience & Training:
• Ability to work different hours to accommodate plant requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate with and support multiple departments including R&D, sales, production, production personnel, etc.
• Capable of performing under pressure and keeping track of multiple issues simultaneously
• Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to keep information readily available for review
• Project management
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Polymer or Industrial Engineering with 3-5 years experience preferred.
• Desirable educational experiences include: Technology of plastics compounding and extruding, Familiarity with Word and Excel, Experience with electrical and mechanical systems, CAD skills, Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental laws, Statistical data analysis
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb stairs/ladders, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must follow corporate and plant safety policies. Office and Production Floor - based.
