Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
  • Offers suggestions to improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity and set up production schedules.
  • Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates manufacturing processes such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly and material handling.
  • May assist with time and cost estimates.
  • Implements approved process improvements to meet quality standards, performs feasibility studies and helps to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Creates necessary documentation and aides in communication to personnel.
  • Studies and makes recommendations for manufacturing facility layout regarding items such as sequence of operations, equipment layout and utilization and other related items.
  • Researches new manufacturing methods, equipment and other manufacturing technologies and makes recommendations for implementation.
  • Ensures that the organization's processes and equipment comply with all safety laws and regulations.
  • Composes test and technical reports.
  • Delivers simple or routine presentations.
  • May provide work instructions to technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 0-3+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, industrial or other engineering discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership
  • Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to address customer issues and partner on resolutions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides
  • In-depth understanding and demonstrated competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data
  • Ability to effectively apply the PDCA process to identify potential process improvements
  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in solving problems in a timely manner
