Process Development Specialist - Monroe, OH

The Production Process Development Specialist provides hands-on technical expertise to support both batch and continuous chemical reactor operations. This role focuses heavily on continuous improvement, implement new products/processes, minimizing production downtime, reducing waste, and incorporating improved safety measures into the processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist and provide support to Operations & Quality with root cause analysis to identify and eliminate underlying causes of production problems, while incorporating opportunities for process, quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with Operations & Quality to identify and implement opportunities for process optimization on current products. Opportunities include: Batch record and recipe refinement, SOP’s, Food safety enhancements, equipment modifications, quality methods, data analysis, and operator training.
  • Work with Development and Operations, to coordinate the scale-up of new products into operations. Focus on improving efficiency and process improvements through the scale up process.
  • Coordinate on Management Of Change processes with Operations, EH&S, and Food safety when needed.
  • Work with Engineering, Production and Development to provide recommendations for capital investments for capacity and efficiency improvement.
  • The position requires in-process analysis of products (GC, GC/MS, AV, KF, SG).
  • Assure that self is adhering to all Federal, State, local, and ADM policies on environmental, health, and safety. Participate in the site training program and site safety programs.
  • Have competency in all Federal, State, Local, and ADM Food Safety Regulations through on-the-job best practices and actively participating in training. Applications of HACCP as a key example.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of product/process development and scale-up experience in a specialty chemical manufacturing plant. Critical skill sets include distillation, extraction, and other separation techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills including project management, data collection, time management and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrated teamwork and the ability to collaborate with others
  • Effective data analysis, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), HAACP, and EH&S practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and to influence others
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific area preferred
  • Ability to follow all EHS procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to follow all Food Safety procedure and guideline
  • Ability to wear a respirator

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull 600 pounds

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $131,600.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
