Job Role Description

The Process Development Engineer - Advanced role is responsible for taking a new process concept and developing it into a practical, viable commercial process configuration commensurate with business strategy. New process concepts can include new active materials, new chemistry, new feed or product, new unit operations / process configurations, or third-party technology concepts

Job Role Responsibilities

- Conceptualize, develop and evaluate novel process configurations to assess: the critical steps for commercialization; the primary drivers of the techno-economics; process performance relative to the next best alternative; and the process requirements for product qualification, if any
- With direction, forms and executes a strategy to develop and scale-up a novel process concept
- Operate bench or small-scale experimentation in support of process development activities
- Run pilot or demonstration-scale experimentation in support of process scale-up efforts
- Research - Perform research and development relevant to the skill area(s) as an individual collaborator to deliver a work product addressing a defined business value. Collaborate with teammates, peers, Senior Technical Professionals and functions outside research to strengthen work outcome and personal development
- Technical Excellence - Ensure the quality of work performed, using tools and approaches appropriate to the opportunity. Identify and implement work process improvements
- Knowledge Capture - Document and share insights, data, models, and approaches to fully capture and institutionalize the knowledge and tools in a way that enables use by others in ExxonMobil
