Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our Process team as a(n):

Process Automated Machine Operator

1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:

1.1 The Machine Operator is responsible for operating the machine in a safe manner at all times and following the safety measures set by the management of the facility.

2. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

2.1 This position reports directly to: Process Supervisor

3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:

3.1 Check scrap sheet hourly to assure machine is operating correctly. Check rectifiers continually for correct current and amperage.

3.2 Follow daily voltage settings. Constantly check parts from decorative chrome to see if any changes are to be made.

3.3 Take hourly temperatures of designated tanks with thermometer. Watch bath levels and adjust to correct fill.

3.4 Keep machine catwalks clear of any parts and check tanks for floating parts and handle accordingly.

3.5 Watch for lost parts and work with Line Lead and Supervisors to correct.

3.6 Clear machine jam-ups in the safest way possible.

3.7 Preventative maintenance on machines

3.8 Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times.

3.9 Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

3.10 Completes other duties as assigned.

4. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

4.1 The Machine Operator is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including the Occupational Health Legislation, regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003: Worker/Supplied Labor Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).

5. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:

5.1 High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred

6. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:

6.1 Machine Operator experience: good working knowledge of our products will be considered in lieu of this experience.

6.2 Tow motor experience a plus

7. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum training:

7.1 SDS sheets

7.2 Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness

7.3 New Employee Orientation (when required)

8. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

8.1 Basic math skills required.

8.2 Self-motivated

8.3 Mechanical aptitude

8.4 Must be able to meet the physical lifting requirement of this position – lift 50 pounds occasionally or 25-40 pounds regularly, without assistance.

8.5 Able to work hours before and after assigned shift including weekends as needed.
