Job Description

Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

The group “Projects, Processes & Tools” leads strategic projects within the Carl Zeiss SMT R&D organization, focusing on the development and implementation of processes, methods, and tools.

Your role

As a Process Architect, you will actively shape SMT’s end-to-end process landscape. You will be responsible for systematic mapping, architectural design, and continuous improvement of processes. In addition, you will take on project leadership roles and drive strategic initiatives related to processes, organization, and tools.

  • You analyze existing and new workflows, structure them in a methodical way, and integrate them into the SMT Target Operating Model
  • You ensure consistent process architecture (BPMN, role models)
  • You define interfaces, inputs/outputs, and responsibilities
  • You support Process Owners in designing processes in a methodically sound manner
  • You identify opportunities for optimization and harmonize processes
  • You lead cross-functional projects and bring new process and tool solutions from concept to implementation
  • You facilitate cross-functional coordination and decision-making processes

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in process management / process architecture
  • Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and experience with tools such as Signavio
  • Experience leading complex projects
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders
  • A structured, self-directed work style
  • Assertiveness, strong communication skills, and excellent written and spoken German and English

You are a particularly good fit for this role if you additionally bring the following experience and skills:

  • Consulting experience (e.g., management consulting or internal consulting) in the field of process and organizational design
  • Experience in designing target operating models
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

We look forward to receiving your application!
