This role helps develop and maintain launch playbooks, business tools, performance reporting, and cross-functional process improvements that improve launch readiness and execution across the organization.

Position Duties: This individual contributor role supports the foundation of the launch organization by helping teams work from common processes, clear data, and practical business tools. The Engineer will collaborate with plant launch teams, program teams, and cross-functional partners to improve consistency, visibility, and operational discipline.

What you'll do...

  • Process Standardization & Governance: Support the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of standard launch processes, templates, and playbooks. Help ensure processes are practical, aligned, and consistently applied across programs and locations.
  • Business Tools & Digital Process Support: Support the development, testing, maintenance, and improvement of launch-related business tools, trackers, and digital solutions used by the organization to manage deliverables, issues, and readiness activities.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Compile, analyze, and communicate launch data and key performance indicators. Help create reports and dashboards that provide visibility to launch health, risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Prototype Launch Quality Operating System Management: Lead the development and optimization of Ford’s prototype launch quality operating system processes across the organization, including prototype readiness standards, milestone tracking, issue follow-up, lessons learned capture, and cross-functional coordination to strengthen downstream production launch execution.
  • Business Operations Support: Assist with organizational business processes such as resource planning, documentation, meeting coordination, action tracking, and other operational routines that keep the department running effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Work closely with manufacturing, product development, quality, finance, purchasing, IT, and other partners to support launch objectives, resolve issues, and improve alignment.

Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned: Help identify process gaps, capture lessons learned from launches, and implement improvements that strengthen future program execution.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, program management, process improvement, analytics, or industrial operations through full-time work, internships, or co-op assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize information and work effectively across functions.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Eager to continuously learn, adapt, and develop new competencies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.

Even better, you'll have...

  • Experience supporting new model product launch, manufacturing, or industrial strategy activities.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, prototype launch quality operating systems, pre-production build events, or early vehicle evaluation processes.
  • Experience working with business processes, reporting tools, dashboards, or data analysis.
  • Experience with project planning, issue tracking, or change management processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an automotive or manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirement: This position may require travel, including periodic support at vehicle and powertrain assembly plants during key launch milestones. Experienced candidates are preferred; however, entry-level candidates with strong internship, co-op, or related technical experience will also be considered.
