About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lawyer to join
our expanding Pro Bono Practice.

While this
role is based in our Sydney CBD office, at Bartier Perry we all have the
opportunity to work flexibly and remotely. Bartier Perry offers structured

About the team

Our pro bono practice is intentionally broad and works
with multiple areas of the firm. Pro bono matters are drawn from across the
firm offering a broader and more hands‑on experience. You will be working
directly with a Special Counsel and the broader practices, benefiting from
close mentoring, strong support and direct client contact. Matters include:

  • Charity and not‑for‑profit governance
  • Employment advice and disputes
  • Discrimination
  • Elder and financial abuse
  • Commercial disputes
  • Estate planning and disputes
  • Property
  • Corporate and general commercial, IP and
    privacy

This is a practice where lawyers can see the real‑world
impact of their work and contribute meaningfully to the community. You will for act for charities,
not-for-profit organisations, vulnerable and disadvantaged clients, including
asylum seekers, Indigenous individuals and communities, and work with community
legal centres.

About you

Our ideal candidate possesses:

  • 2-3 years PQE, with experience
    in commercial litigation and/or employment law
  • Has
    a strong interest in social justice and community contribution
  • Brings
    experience (or a demonstrated interest) in working with vulnerable or
    distressed clients
  • Has
    a good attitude, open mindset, and collaborative approach
  • Enjoys
    working across different teams and practice areas
  • Are
    interested in helping promote and support the firm’s pro bono program
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for disputes resolution and advocacy work
  • Strong research skills
  • Previous
    pro bono or community legal experience is highly regarded but not essential.
    Lawyers without formal pro bono experience, but with a genuine interest in
    social justice and community‑focused work, are encouraged to apply.
