The Mascaro Family is currently searching for a PRN Speech- Language Pathologist (SLP)! The PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to an 18-year-old with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), specifically Down Syndrome, with an emphasis on functional communication, and cognitive-communication skills. The SLP will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to maximize independence, enhance safety, and improve overall quality of life.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities, include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Speech and reading pathology
- Three (3) to Five (5) 2.5-hour sessions
- Sessions will be recorded
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, and cognitive communication.
- Identify the need for and implement appropriate augmentative and alternative communication.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based goals and document findings clearly, ensuring alignment with individual or family’s goal and best clinical practices.
Therapeutic Intervention:
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based therapy focused on functional communication, social interaction, and cognitive-communication skills.
- Provide ongoing education and modeling for caregivers and family to support generalization of skills across environments.
- Reading evaluation and instruction
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, and caregivers to ensure holistic care as needed.
- Communicate progress and therapy updates with families, guardians, or other team members as necessary.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of the individual’s progress, therapy plans, goals, and outcomes.
- Document all therapy sessions and interactions according to regulatory standards.
- Provide reports or recommendations regarding individual progress or changes to treatment plans.
Training and Education
- Provide training to caregivers, family members, or staff on implementing therapy techniques and supporting the individual in daily activities.
- Educate the individual and caregivers on strategies to improve functional skills at home, in school, or in the community.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including state licensure requirements and ethical standards
- Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe environment for individuals and staff
QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- - A Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program preferred
- - Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
- - Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Experience in a clinical or community setting providing therapeutic services is a plus.

Work Schedule and Salary Details:
- As a PRN Therapist, you will be working a set schedule of eight (8) to ten (10) hours weekly with this individual
- - Likely Monday through Thursday 3PM to 5:30PM (open to discussion)
- This role requires travel to visit individuals community, homes settings and do therapy in the individual’s work environment (J. P. Mascaro & Sons in Audubon, PA.
- Pay: $100-150.00/hr. based on qualifications and experience.
